Phenyx Pro PTL-800 – 8 channel audio mixer.

  • Extensive Connectivity: This audio mixer offers extensive input and output options. Flexible inputs of 6 separate XLR/LINE, a pair of L/R TRS, and Bluetooth enhance the audio setup's capability. Diverse outputs of 2 AUX, 1 BUS, 2 stereo headphones, and 3 XLR main outputs (L, R, SUB) meet different monitoring needs: using Sub out for powered subwoofers and BUS out for a separate signal feed in live streaming.
  • Advanced Routing: This analog mixer boasts robust and precise routing. Each channel can achieve pre/post-fader sends for 2 AUX outputs, route audio to the BUS auxiliary track for additional output and easy volume control, and direct pure low-frequency signals to the SUB output for enhanced bass. Additionally, the FX track can be optionally routed to the channel for flexible effects management.
  • Versatile Sound-Shaping: Unlocks your audio creativity through 16 DSP effects. SEND/RETURN outputs allow you to integrate external effects processors into your setup seamlessly. Individual +48V phantom power switches enable the use of condenser microphones, while specially designed preamps and 3-band EQ for vocals ensure improved tonal quality.
  • Wireless Streaming: Bluetooth functionality for wireless music streaming and USB connectivity for recording and playback. Dual stereo headphone outputs with independent volume control support multiple listeners — ideal for home studio, stage, live performance and broadcast.
  • Local Support: Supplied from Australian stock and covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Contact MSM AV directly for support on this item.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many microphones can I plug into the PTL-800?

Six, on the separate XLR/LINE channels, each with its own +48V phantom power switch so you can mix dynamic and condenser microphones on the same desk. There is also a stereo L/R TRS pair and Bluetooth, which covers backing tracks and background music without using up a mic channel.

What is the SUB output for?

It carries a low-frequency-only feed, so you can run a powered subwoofer from it without giving up a main output or splitting cables. Alongside it you get main L and R XLR outputs, two AUX sends switchable pre or post fader for foldback or in-ear monitors, and a BUS output that works well as a separate feed for a live stream or an overflow room.

Is the PTL-800 worth it over the PTL-600?

If you need more than four microphone channels, yes. The PTL-800 gives six XLR/LINE channels against the PTL-600 four; the rest of the desk is identical, with 16 DSP effects, SEND/RETURN, two AUX plus BUS and SUB outputs, Bluetooth and two stereo headphone outputs. A band with drums, or a church running speakers and singers together, usually runs out of channels on a four-input desk.
