The Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio HD Pro is the full rack width HD deck, built for machine rooms and OB trucks where media capacity and a proper transport control matter. It adds two 2.5 inch SSD slots alongside the two SD card slots, XLR timecode connectors and a machined metal search dial with an electronic clutch.

Four media slots
2 x 2.5 inch SSD slots supporting SATA-II and SATA-III drives, plus 2 x SD card slots for UHS-I and UHS-II cards, plus a USB-C 3.0 expansion port. Formatted ExFAT or HFS+. Four internal slots means long-form recording that rolls from one drive to the next without operator intervention.

Connections
1 x SDI input, 2 x SDI outputs and a dedicated SDI monitor output at 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G and 6G. 1 x HDMI 2.0 input and output. Timecode in and out on XLR connectors — the broadcast standard, and a step up from the Plus model's BNC. Reference in and out on BNC accepting Tri-Sync or Black Burst. RS-422 in and out.

Recording and playback
SD, HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD to 2160p30 and 4K DCI to 30p, 4:2:2 YUV 10-bit with HDR support for HLG and ST2084. ProRes 422 HQ, 422, LT and Proxy to 2160p30, plus ProRes 4444 playback to 1080p60 with automatic fill and key over SDI outputs A and B. DNxHD 220x, 145 and 45; DNxHR HQX, SQ and LB; and H.264. 33-point 3D LUTs on the SDI monitor output.

Transport control
Sixteen transport buttons and a machined metal search dial with an electronic clutch, alongside a 2.2 inch colour LCD. The clutch gives the dial genuine tactile detents for jog, shuttle and scroll — the difference between a deck you operate and one you drive.

Audio
16 channels of embedded SDI audio in and out, 8 channels of embedded HDMI audio in and out. Built-in mono speaker and 6.35mm headphone jack.

Control
1Gb/s Ethernet with the Blackmagic HyperDeck Ethernet Protocol and FTP upload, plus RS-422 deck control.

Power
Internal 100 to 240V AC supply plus a 4-pin XLR 12V DC input. 100W maximum. One year limited manufacturer's warranty.
